Plot

Kim Cheolhun, who was writing a novel called The General’s Mustache, suddenly kills himself, and the narrator is suspected of murdering him. The narrator traces Kim’s diary and the novel he was working on in order to free himself from the accusation.

1966년에 <세대>지에 발표된 이어령의 단편소설이다. 평론가로 유명한 이어령의 첫 소설 작품으로, 인본주의적 시선으로 바라는 세계를 묘사하고 있다. 시대에 의해 개인의 일상이 파괴는 모습이 숨김없이 드러난다.

Published in 1966, this novella was written by Lee O-young, who built his reputation not as a novelist, but as a literary critic. Kim Seung-ok adapted this novella into a movie in 1968. The story deals with the repercussions of the Korean War and how it affected and destroyed the lives of individuals.
