Lee Wonkyu (1962-) is a South Korean poet. He made his literary debut in 1984 when his poem “Yubaejiui pulkkot” (유배지의 풀꽃Flowers in the Place of Exile) was published in Wolgan Munhak. Considering life as a pilgrimage in his own nomadic way and speed, rather than taking the way and speed demanded by the world, he turns the records of the nature he encounters in his everyday life into poetry. He is the recipient of Shin Dongyup Literary Award in 1998 and the Peace and Human Rights Literary Award in 2004.
