Kim Ilyeop (1896-1971) is a South Korean writer and a Buddhist nun. In 1920, she founded the first women’s magazine Sinyeoja and began her literary career in the same year with the publication of the short stories “Gyesi” (계시(啓示) Revelation) and “Eoneu sonyeoui sa” (어느 소녀의 사(死) The Death of a Girl). She is highly regarded as a writer who opened the way for women to step into the literary world in the early modern times when it was difficult for women to carry out literary activities.l  Short story “Gyesi” (계시(啓示) Revelation) (1920)l  Short story “Aeyogeul pihayeo” (애욕을 피하여 In Avoidance of Passion) (1932)
