This book is a collection of 100 Korean poems in classical Chinese. Ranging from the 7th to the 19th century, these five-character line quatrain poems are crafted in the strict metrics and rhetoric of the New Style of poetry, the development of which first appeared in the Táng Dynasty (618-960) of China. These poems show not only the mastery that Korean poets were able to achieve in the form but also the depth of feeling and subtlety of thought that mark the best of Korean art.
