1941년에 출간된 이태준의 산문집이다. 1930년대 여러 잡지와 매체에 발표한 수필, 문학론, 여행기 등의 산문을 모은 것으로 모두 57편의 산문이 실려 있다. 수록된 글들은 대개 수필이지만, <단편과 장편>, <조선의 소설들>, <소설의 맛> 등 작가 자신의 문학론이나 <해촌일지>, <만주기행>과 같은 기행문도 실려 있다.

This collection of essays by Yi Tae-jun was published in 1941. The collection introduces 57 of the writer’s essays which were published in literary magazines and newspapers in the 1930s, and which include his travelogues such as “Traveling Manchuria” and “Daily Records of Haechon,” and his thoughts on literature and literary theory such as “Novels and Short Stories,” “Stories from Joseon,” and “The Taste of Novels.”
